Investigating the effective factors on creating vitality in urban spaces (Case study: Taghbestan Boulevard, Kermanshah)
Identifying the factors affecting the quality of urban space is essential because in today's industrial world, people spend most of their time during the day and night in urban environments and the quality of these spaces affects the lives and health of citizens. Vitality in urban space is a factor that can help improve the quality of the environment and the life of urban space users. In this regard, this study examines the factors affecting vitality in Taghbestan Boulevard in Kermanshah by field studies and completing a questionnaire. Findings indicate that 75% of people who use this space consider the boulevard as a lively space. The most important factors affecting vitality in the urban space from the perspective of users of this boulevard are greenery in the environment, the presence of trees and plants, diversity of use, lack of riding and car axes, individual satisfaction with the environment, the amount of people using the street, water levels such as Ponds, public communication spaces, play areas for children, the use of cheerful colors in the environment, the use of appropriate lighting and the absence of abnormal sounds. According to the findings, it is suggested to use various, flexible and changeable urban elements to increase the vitality and presence of people in the space of this street in order to reduce the effect of the day of death and induce vitality in the space. Other solutions are to reduce the role of cars and add pedestrian and bicycle axles along the boulevard. Also, the presence of various uses such as shopping malls, retail stores and leisure centers can make the boulevard more lively.
