Abstract:
Introduction

Considering the importance of human resources in military organizations and the significance of training in improving the country's military forces and its important role in the efficiency of officers and the importance of staff achievement motivation in the success of these organizations, this study was conducted to investigate the effect of the teachings of the introductory course of administrative corps on officers' achievement motivation in a military organization.

Method

This is an applied research work in terms of purpose, and in regard to data collection method, it is quasi-experimental type with one group of subjects. The statistical population of the study consisted of all the officers (70 people) taking the introductory course of administrative corps in the center in the winter of 2018 and the spring of 2019. In this study, the standard Hermans Questionnaire (1970) was utilized. For data analysis, the multivariate analysis of covariance test along with its prerequisites and Pillai's trace test, Hotelling trace, Wilks' lambda and Roy's largest root were used.

Results

The results of the analyses revealed that the introductory course of administrative corps has a positive, significant effect on the achievement motivation of the officers. Therefore, the main hypothesis and sub-hypotheses of the study including the effect on the level of aspirations, resistance, the stress of performing task, partner selection criteria, motivation to move up, efficiency, foresight and getting feedback were confirmed, but its effect on time perception and risk-taking behavior was not significant.

Discussion

The results indicated that the average effect of this training course on the achievement motivation of the staff was low, and one of the most important reasons of issue is that enough attention is not paid to staff motivation in needs analyses for these courses and the training courses are short and inconsistent.
