Investigating the Status of Transformational Leadership Indicators of Principals in Primary Schools in Tehran

Abstract:
Purpose

The aim of this article was to investigate the status of transformational leadership indicators of primary managers in Tehran.

Materials and Methods

In terms of purpose, the research method was developmental and in terms of data type, it was a part of a series of mixed exploratory researches that was performed by the data foundation method and in terms of method, it was a descriptive survey type. The statistical population in the qualitative section includes a number of experts and in the quantitative section includes all male and female principals of public elementary schools in Tehran, including 907 people who were employed in the academic year 1399-99. In the qualitative section, 12 people were targeted by snowballs and in A small number of 270 people were selected by cluster and random sampling method according to Krejcie and Morgan table. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. The apparent validity of the questionnaires was verified by experts and the content validity was verified using CVR forms. The validity of the structure in the form of convergent validity was the values ​​of all factor loads above 0.50 and the reliability was confirmed with a coefficient of 0.881 and finally the data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially.

Findings

The results showed; Factors and components of transformational leadership include 6 main factors and 18 components, which are: school identity factor (school dynamics, school synergy, school organizational structure factor including lack of transparency in the formulation of administrative rules and regulations, lack of flexibility in education, Factor of organizational motivation in education (meeting the material and spiritual needs of teachers, dissemination of value behaviors, dissemination of moral behaviors, agent of organizational communication in education, including managers having leadership characteristics) Emphasis on behavioral skills, emphasis on humanism, emphasis on science Orientation was identified as a factor in the development of education, including the creation of strategic thinking in education, the reformability of education, the ethical development of education, and the functional growth of education.

Conclusion

According to the principals of the synergistic components of schools, transparency in the formulation of administrative rules, flexibility of education, meeting the material and spiritual needs of teachers, behavioral and humanistic skills and functional growth of education are not in a favorable situation.
