Identifying Barriers and Motivational Factors of Religious Culture of Organ Donationin TV Programs
Organ transplantation is an issue that, despite medical advances, has not been able to receive the attention it deserves due to cultural barriers. In this regard, the media, especially television programs play a crucial role in promoting Religious culture of organ donation. Given the great importance of this issue, this study seeks to identify the barriers and motivational factors of the culture of organ donation in television programs.
The present study is of qualitative type in the form of consecutive (mixed) exploratory. To analyze the data, content analysis in the qualitative part was used to build the tool. The data related to the qualitative part of the research was based on six TV programs and the dialogues and images related to these programs were extracted based on the semiotic method.
The results of the qualitative section in two categories of motivational factors (referring to cultural and religious motives, scientific and educational references of gratitude and moral motives, differences in different situations and diseases, attention to legal regulations, encouragement to receive an organ donation card, Statistics of transplant status in the country) and barriers (patient personal barriers, media shortages, representation of cultural barriers, educational and scientific barriers, medical shortages and administrative shortages).
The results of this study showed that in order to promote the culture of organ donation in the production of programs in the national media, two categories of motivational factors and barriers should be considered and on the other hand, it was found that the proposed model in terms of fit indicators is acceptable.
