Abstract:

The article, tries to explore mysticism from a fuzzy thinking angle of view and analyze it in terms of epistemic and social pathology. To do this end, it undertakes first to define the notion and historical background of the term "fuzzy" and then proceeds to describe the fuzzy worldview. It then goes on to expound, what is meant by "fuzzy logic" explaining and proving its theoretical principles and fundamental theorems. While introducing the "fuzzy notion" and analyzing its relation to categories such as "knowledge" and "hikma", the author goes on to discuss the relation between mysticism on the one hand and fuzzy logic and thinking on the other. Accordingly. mysticism enjoys naturally such characteristics that are in harmony with corresponding ones in fuzzy thinking. For this reason, mysticism should be considered as a quasi- fuzzy thinking.
