Comparison of maladaptive schemas and components of emotional intelligence in observing or not observing health procedures during the Covid-19 pandemic
The aim of this study was to compare maladaptive schemas and components of emotional intelligence in observing or not observing health procedures during the Covid-19 pandemic in soldiers of a military training center in the Armed Forces in 2020. The statistical sample consisted of 148 people out of 250 people who referred to the university in a certain period of time without observing the hygienic principles related to the coronavirus and were selected by systematic sampling method. They were selected to the Duty Training Center. To collect data the Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (1980) and Young's Early Maladaptive Schemas Questionnaire (1995) were used. Finally, the data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance and Bonferroni post-hoc test. Findings indicate that there is a significant difference between the early maladaptive schemas in the field of disconnection and rejection and the field of impaired performance as well as the components of emotional intelligence in interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence between the two groups. Accordingly, the existence of maladaptive schemas and low levels of interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence are among the psychological factors influencing the lack of attention to health principles in the fight against coronavirus.
