Investment Security: The Axis of Economic Growth
The reason for different levels of economic growth and development in different countries is one of the most important questions of economists. Although economic factors such as rate of savings, investment, increase in production factors, and human resources play an important role in informing different levels of development, it is clear today that non-economic factors such as political stability, order & discipline, guaranteeing of contracts, corruption, copyright, ethnic and cultural conflicts, security, and so on play a significant role in differences in levels of countries. A great deal of research shows that security is one of the most important and fundamental growth factors in countries. In terms of security, investment security which is one of the examples of and constituents of economic security plays a paramount role. In fact, investment security is a part of the economic security which is in relation to making sure of maintenance of capital for the investors, and it is measurable through different indexes. This paper examines the different dimensions of security and its relation to development, especially investment security. Then, by analyzing some of the indexes, we clarify the role of the security in economic growth and development.
