A Comparison on the Effectiveness of Forgiveness-Based Compassion Therapy According to Marital Conflicts and Compassion-Based Therapy on the Anger and Marital Adjustment of the Women
the present study was conducted to compare the effectiveness of forgiveness-based compassion therapy according to marital conflicts and compassion-based therapy on the anger and marital adjustment of the women.
the present study was quasi-experimental with pretest, posttest and control group design. The statistical population included the women with marital conflict in the city of Yazd in 2019. 45 women were selected through purposive sampling method and were randomly accommodated into experimental and control groups. The experimental groups received forgiveness-based compassion therapy and compassion-based therapy. The applied questionnaires included marital conflicts questionnaire (MCQ), anger Control (ACQ) and marital adjustment (MSQ). The data were analyzed through ANCOVA.
the results showed that the Present interventions have significant effect on the anger (F=12.71, Eta= 0.41, P≤0.001) and marital adjustment (F=15.25, Eta= 0.45, P≤0.001). Moreover, forgiveness-based compassion therapy has had more effect than compassion-based therapy on marital adjustment.
taking the significant effect of forgiveness-based compassion therapy and compassion-based therapy, it is advised to use these two methods to improve marital adjustment and anger of the women with marital conflicts.
