Abstract:
The division of prediction into primary and common is one of the important divisions in the issue of prediction. In this article we address the uses of those first-instance propositions in which the subject and predicate are the same. Most Muslim philosophers find them useless, because they believe that such propositions do not have a new meaning. But, the research findings show that since such propositions contain judgement, one can imagine a benefit for them. The usefulness of these propositions is based on the judgement that has been made in them, which suggests correspondence to reality and implies unity and objectivity. After analyzing this, it is shown that the meaning intended by the opponent philosophers does not contradict the usefulness of such propositions.
