The effectiveness of interaction behavior analysis on emotional maturity and communication beliefs

Abstract:

Interpersonal Behavior Analysis is one of the theories that has paid much attention to interpersonal relationships, the process of life events and the interactions of individuals with each other and has provided practical solutions to interpersonal issues; Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of interaction behavior analysis on emotional maturity and communication beliefs. The research method was quasi-experimental and the pretest-posttest design was with the control group. Among the women who volunteered for marriage and referred to Golabchi Medical Center and Psychiatric Clinic in Kashan in the second half of 2020 for premarital counseling, 52 people were selected by available sampling method and randomly in the experimental group (26 people). ) And witness (26 people) were included. In the pre-test, women answered the Sink and Bahargawa (1984) Emotional Maturity Questionnaire and the Idelson and Epstein (1981) Communication Beliefs Questionnaire. Group therapy sessions were held for the experimental group for 8 sessions (period of 2 months) and again at the end of the sessions the questionnaires were completed by the control and experimental groups. Analysis of covariance was used to analyze the data. The results showed that interaction behavior analysis training was effective on emotional stability and irrational communication beliefs of women volunteering for marriage (p <0.05). According to the research findings, it is suggested to use the teachings of reciprocal behavior analysis in counseling centers to equip women volunteers with appropriate and satisfactory communication skills.
