Identifying effective factors in reducing the costs of higher education centers

In the new era today, resource management has taken on new dimensions and as a result, expectation from management is completely different from the challenges of the past. Today, higher education systems, as the most obvious manifestation of human resource investment, play a major role in training and providing efficient human resources. The aim of this study was to identify the factors affecting the reduction of costs of higher education centers in order to improve productivity, as an important tool in the field of education system management and educational and research policies.

This research was conducted with a descriptive-survey approach to discover and enumerate the effective factors based on data collected from previous studies and interviews with 12 relevant experts in several scientific-applied centers in Tehran province.

 In the data analysis section, using the coding method by MAXQDA software, 47 indicators and 5 components were identified in the framework of 3 dimensions of people organization, structural organization and organization of innovative facilities.

Using technology instead of labor and costly physical space can reduce the costs of higher education centers. Attention to the physical facilities of higher education centers is one of the most important factors in reducing the costs of these centers, which in this study ranks sixth among the components affecting the reduction of costs of higher education centers.
