Identity types of women in the subway
The phenomenon of female peddling in the metro of Tehran has become one of the social groups of this metropolis for many years. Whereas, by recognizing the various identities of women traffickers, the sociological issues of this social group and the issues related to them can be better investigated; Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of identifying the identity types of women in the subway.For a deeper understanding of the purpose, this study was conducted with a qualitative approach and phenomenological method. Sampling method In this research, purposive sampling and data collection tools are semi-structured in-depth interviews. The participants in this study are 23 women peddlers in the subway. The researcher reached a theoretical saturation with this number of interviews.Metro peddlers define their social identity in a way that can be classified into three types: conservative, frustrated and satisfied peddlers. Conservative peddlers in whom the tendency to anonymity was more evident than in other groups, and were mostly the head or assistant head of the family. Disillusioned peddlers were a group of peddlers, mostly single young girls or divorced women, who turned to the profession for financial independence. Most of them were yesterday's employees or university graduates who did not find a suitable platform for their field of study. The peddlers were satisfied that the majority of the old subway vendors and women were caretakers or assistant caretakers in the family. They expressed satisfaction that they found themselves in a well-off society without any job restrictions.
