Identifying and Prioritizing the Obstacles of Achieving Scientific Marjaiyat in Humanities & Social Science (Case Study of Imam Sadiq University)
The importance and status of the educational system of a country, especially the higher education is undeniable. Based on the strategic documents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the statements of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the system of higher education of the country is proceeding towards scientific marjaiyat or authority. In regard to the importance of humanities in the building of modern Islamic civilization and the mission of Imam Sadiq University (ISU) as the first center expected to assume this role by the Supreme Leader, this research has been conducted to identify and prioritize the obstacles of achieving scientific authority in humanities with the case study of ISU.After reviewing the literature with the aim of presenting a sum-up of past research activities and identifying the initial barriers to scientific authority, questions were obtained to conduct a semi-structured interview with experts in this field. Then, the research achieved its goal using a mixed method in two stages: Firstly, holding an interview to identify the barriers ;secondly, prioritizing these barriers through the importance-performance analysis (IPA). After analyzing the content of the interviews and combining the barriers, forty one obstacles were identified in seven categories. In the end, the barriers were analyzed from "effectiveness" and "feasibility" perspectives, and the final prioritization was presented based on the accumulation of the two perspectives.
