The Quranic and Narrational Foundations of the Source of Political Security in Islam

The purpose of the present study is to review Qur’anic and narrational foundations of the source of political security in Islam. In this research, Qur’anic and narrational foundations of the source of political security in Islam were explained by using the theoretical framework derived from the theory of government-centered security, triplet methods of understanding the source of political security, and documentary and inferential method. The results indicated that some propositions in the Noble Qur’an and Islamic narrations, on the one hand, imply the necessity of boosting components of the source of political security in Islam (Islamic government by 3 components of Islam, state institutions, territory), and on the other hand, they emphasize on removing any kind of threat against those 3 components above. It means that since bid’at (innovation in religious matters), Irtedād (apostasy), assimilation to unbelievers, books of ignorance (compared to Islamic ideology) and submission, autocracy, violence and seduction (against public governmental institutions) and submission, enemy’s attack against the country, selling weapons to the enemies (of Islamic countries) are considered threatful, it is concluded that from the view of verses and narrations, 3 components of the Islamic government are considered the source of political security.
