The Effect of Political Componentson the Formation of the AnsārollāhMovement in Yemen
The purpose of the present study is to review and analyze the political contexts effective on the formation and sustenance of the Ansārollāh Movement in Yemen. The research is conducted using potentials of contextualism and the results indicate that some backgrounds such as the reflection of the Islamic Revolution upon Zaydiyah in Yemen, the unification of Yemen, president Sāleh’s support to Iraq in the Second Persian Gulf Battle, September 11th attack, and the 6 wars in North Yemen are among outstanding components leading to the formation of Ansārollāh Movement that after Islamic Awakening transformations, improved the state of this movement to the most important political actor in Yemen. Six political backgrounds mentioned in the present research clearly specify the process of transforming Ansārollāh from a cultural group seeking the revival of Zaydism to an influential actor in Yemen and the region.
