A Qualitative Study of the Consequences of Women Humiliation in the Workplace
Humiliation of the employed women is a serious threat to the health and human rights. Women Humiliation in the workplace is recognized as an important social issue because of its fundamental consequences on women's lives. The aim of the present study was to investigate the lived experiences of humiliated working women in the workplace.
This research is conducted using a qualitative method and a semi-structured interview technique has been implemented to collect the research data. The target population of the study includes employed women in Makou city and 40 women participated in the interview. Purposeful sampling method and maximum diversity were used to select the participants. Open, axial and selective coding phases were used to analyze the data.
The interviews were conducted with the full awareness and consent of the participants and their personal information was kept confidential at all stages of the research.
The most important consequences of women humiliation in the working place are: social isolation, formation of family tensions, erosion of social trust, erosion of social health, erosion of mental health.
The negative effects of women humiliation in the workplace not only affect these women, but also cause serious damage to the family system and even the body of society. Among the most important consequence is the formation of social alienation.
