Developments in women's political participation in the Islamic Republic of Iran since the formation of the Islamic Revolution

The main purpose of this article is to examine the political participation of women in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Participation is one of the main tools for achieving political development. Since the formation of the Islamic Revolution, various governments have tried to strengthen it through political participation. However, a look at the statistics and the trend of political participation shows that they have not been able to succeed in this important matter so far. In this regard, the main question of the dissertation is how the political participation of women in the Islamic Republic of Iran has been? In response to this hypothesis, it has been argued that despite the efforts of various governments, political participation has been inadequate, both quantitatively and qualitatively. The presence of women in important political positions, the process of their presence is focused on middle positions. Lack of synergy of different levels of economic structures, political and cultural structure with the developments resulting from globalization and women's empowerment, has led to the continuation of the dominant discourse of patriarchy and the weakness of women's agency in Iranian politics. The type of research method in this article is descriptive-analytical and based on library studies.
