Consequences of Covid 19 Disease On People With Intellectual Disabilities and Their Families: A Systematic Review

Abstract:

Covid 19  has had a profound impact on the population around the world, and throughout the world, it has endangered the psychological and physical health of people.  People with intellectual disabilities are a vulnerable group, especially against the threats caused by Covid 19. The purpose of the present study was to review research on the consequences of Covid 19  on people with intellectual disabilities. The method of investigating the data in the present study was a systematic review. Its methodology is also based on the collection, classification, and summarizing of the findings of scientific articles related Covid 19, people with intellectual disabilities, and their families between 2019 - 2022 from Persian And English Information Databases: Science Direct, Eric، Ebsco,  Google Scholar، Scopus، Science Direct, Pubmed, SID, Magiran and Noormags, and the keywords of Corona, people with intellectual disability and their families have been sought. In the initial searches, 70 articles were selected, and the following  31articles related to the consequence of Covid  19 in people with intellectual disabilities and their families were selected. Among them, 6 articles were eliminated due to a Lack of access to the full text of the article, 5 articles were eliminated due to the repetition of the subject on several databases, and finally, 20 articles were selected. The results showed that due to the vulnerability of people with intellectual disabilities against the infection of Covid  19and its social, educational, psychological, and health consequences, specialists and hand-in-laws recognize the consequences of Covid  19on  people with intellectual disabilities. provide the basis for the training, education, intervention, and treatment of these people and their families.
