Assessing Spatial Flows of City and Suburban Area (Case study: , Papi district - Khorramabad County)

Spatial flows between cities and suburban Area in the form of rural-urban connections, play a very important role in the balance and integrated development of the region. Disclosure of current flows at the district level can play an important role in the planning and policy-making system of urban and rural development. The aim of this study is to analyze the spatial flows in residential areas in order to explain the spatial system in the papal district of Khorramabad county. The present study is applied in terms of purpose, exploratory in terms of nature and descriptive-analytical in terms of method. In this paper, spatial flows are analyzed through network analysis approach. The statistical population studied is all rural settlements in Papi district and surrounding cities. The required data were collected using field method, questioning technique, then data were analyzed accourding the framework of network paradigm and network analysis technique through NodeXL software. The results of the analysis of flows show that the city of Sepiddasht has not been able to absorb rural flows at the local level and play an city role well, and in contrast to the city of Khorramabad and Droud in the papi section have a more central role than the city of Sepiddasht And these connections have made the villagers spend more time and money on services, marketing, and investment. Therefore, the network system and strong connection between the city and suburban area are not established in the papai district.
