Abstract:
In recent decades, during the beginning of development and modernization programs and the introduction of modern values in developing countries, the institution of the family has undergone fundamental changes. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to analyze the generational functional changes of the family in the context of development idealism in the city of Tabriz. This research has been done by a survey method among married people 18 years and older in Tabriz in 1399. The sampling method is multi-stage cluster and the sample size is estimated to be 600 people. Findings indicate that although the average or rate of family functions varies between different generations, but this difference is not statistically significant. This means that although the institution of the family has changed, the family is still of great importance to individuals. There is also a significant inverse correlation between developmental idealism and family functions between different generations. The coefficients of explanation obtained from the multiple regression test also indicate that the components of development idealism in the first generation are 0.28, in the second generation 0.35, in the third generation 0.38 and in the fourth generation 0.48 of variance or changes in family functions have explained.
