In this study, the effectiveness imago therapy on the difficulty of regulating emotion and love addiction on people involved in emotional divorce referred to the clinical mahia west of Tehran has been investigated.
The present study was a quasi-experimental study conducted in three stages: pre-test, post-test and follow-up. The statistical population of all couples involved in emotional divorce referred to clinical mahia in the west of Tehran in 1400. Non-probability sampling method, and the sample were divided into 2 groups of 15, completely random, according to the results of the questionnaire. Data collection tools were demographic information sheet, Guttman Emotional Divorce Scale, Hotfield and Spritcher Passionate Love Scale. In order to analyze the hypotheses, multivariate analysis of covariance with repeated measures was used.
The results showed that there was a significant difference between the mean of love addiction in imago therapy with the mean of the control group at the level of p <0.01. The results were stable at the follow-up stage.
According to the current results, imago therapy can be used to reduce the effect of love addiction in people involved in emotional divorce.
