Abstract:

The fortieth day of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain is referred to in Shia culture as "Arbaeen" and Shia go to visit him on this day. The first person who visited Karbala in the first Arbaeen was Jabir Bin Abdullah Ansari. But there is no clear report about the return of Ahl Al-Bayt from Sham to Karbala on the Arbaeen. This issue has not been addressed in many early historical sources that have reported the events of Ashura, but at the same time, the return of the Imam's holy head to his body and the coming of the Ahl Al-Bayt to Karbala is well known. Hence, on the issue of the return of Ahl Al-Bayt to Karbala, two views have been formed; some have ruled it out and even considered its practically impossible, but others have given numerous reasons and evidences for the possibility and occurrence of the return of the Ahl Al-Bayt. In order to clarify the issue, the author has studied the relevant sources and by criticizing the reasons and evidence of both views, has found the theory of the return of the Ahl Al-Bayt to Karbala stronger. This research has been done with a descriptive analytical method.
