Identifying factors affecting the severity of single-vehicle run off the road accidents
Today, road accidents in Iran have become the main cause of injuries and deaths. A significant part of the accidents are the accidents of leaving the road, which occur due to collision with fixed objects or overturning. These accidents are usually more severe than other accidents. Analyzing the parameters that cause off-road accidents can help improve traffic safety. In order to identify the factors affecting the severity of such accidents, off-road accidents that occurred between 1390 and 1400 on Tehran-Mashhad suburban road were extracted from Naja traffic police accident system.
This research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-cross-sectional in terms of quantitative data collection methods. The required information has been collected through library and field studies and the use of relevant statistical data. To analyze the data, the statistics of accidents that occurred on the Tehran-Mashhad road between 2010 and 2010 were used. Binary logistic regression model and 82181 accident data were used in order to identify the factors affecting the severity of single-vehicle road exit accidents.
As a result of this research, according to the identification of variables affecting the severity of accidents, the traffic police can take appropriate measures to reduce the severity of ROR single vehicle accidents.
