Meteorological databases and their application in agriculture

One of the limiting factors for meteorology and water science research in Iran is the lack of basic information such as temperature and precipitation. From the short length of the time series and the difficulty of preparing statistics, in terms of cost and administrative processes to the low distribution of stations, these defects are among these defects. Today, many sciences such as tourism, agriculture, public health, new energy, sea, air and road transportation, sports, urban planning, industry, disaster forecasting and management and other sciences require satellite meteorology. Meteorological data also plays a key role in land planning. Meteorological data is also used in the field of water losses. There are different ways to meet these statistical needs. Global networked databases are one of the best options. These databases provide meteorological elements from different sources of ground stations, remote sensing information and numerical models in the form of regional or global networking. Their selection is based on comparing the information of different databases with the information of existing ground stations. Among meteorological data, precipitation is the most widely used meteorological element that is used in all development plans. In this article, the rainfall databases are also emphasized.
