Abstract:

Identity is something that is becoming and the ground for its formation is collective life In this regard, our society contains different interpretations of Iranian identity, which is a living issue between discourses in various areas of life. And power, as the main factor in the formation of identity, creates the knowledge and truth it needs.One of the signs of identity in Iran is the Ashura event, which has validity and authority in the minds and consciences of Shiites. In this regard, the phenomenon of "Arbaeen Walk" as a cultural identity has developed in recent years ; therefore, re-evaluating and analyzing the presence of power in the formation of identity is the issue of this research.This study analyzes the two major identity discourses before and after the Islamic Revolution of Iran by adopting the method of "genealogy" and relying on components such as discontinuity, knowledge system, position of power and resistance, association of power with knowledge and truth and then it has tried to formulate a new cultural identity and how it is broken and its new manifestation.
