Abstract:
Current events in Afghanistan that have evolved over decades as consecutive cycles of crises represent a problem, which has not been considered as a question. Within the last two decades we have persistently seen problems, crises and riots in the country. Most of these crises result from a lack of strategic outlook on decision-making processes, policy-making by governments, foreign intervention and civil war, which all have contributed to the rise of overlapping dilemmas. With the Taliban’s rise to power in 2021, the country’s political structure is faced with a complex of hostilities, worsening political instability, economic stagnation and security dilemmas. Afghanistan needs to reform and reconstruct its political institutions if it wishes to enjoy stability, peaceful governance and sustainable economic development. In this research, four approaches have been considered that might have the potential to make Afghanistan move in a more stable and sustainable path, while improving the future vision of the country. This paper adopts a scientific-prescriptive method in order to precisely analyze Afghanistan’s current developments and to recommend suggestions in the sphere of political structure.
