Elections and Reproduction of Tribal-Religious Competitions (Case study of Islamabad Gharb)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the election and its role in reproducing ethnic-religious competition in Islamabad Gharb (Kermanshah province). The present study is an applied research according to the existing objectives and the type of research is based on the qualitative-quantitative paradigm and the technique used to collect information and survey data. The statistical sample in the first phase of the research includes 18 experts. In the second part of the study, the statistical sample is 384 indigenous people living in the western region of Islamabad. The research tool in the first stage is a researcher-made questionnaire and consists of 58 questions. After conducting exploratory factor analysis, the number of research questions was reduced to 49 questions. In order to evaluate the validity of the research instrument, the face validity method was used and in order to measure the reliability, the Cronbach's alpha method of reliability was used. Sampling method in this dissertation is a multi-stage cluster sampling method. Exploratory findings of the study showed that elections in the form of 5 factors; Competition of different ethnic groups for government jobs, politicization of ethnicities living in the region increasing intra-ethnic solidarity, accountable ethnic participation and strengthening of ethnic-religious elites are effective in reproducing ethnic-religious competition in Islamabad Gharb.
