Iran's Foreign Policy Strategy after Saddam

Following the fall of Saddam, Islamic Republic of Iran decided to adopt the policy of “assistance to other countries” in line with boosting cooperation with Arab world player especially Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The attendance of Iran in direct negotiation with the Coalition Forces regarding security situation of Iraq andAfghanistan was part of these endeavors. Doing in this way, Iran hoped that could avoid a new round of rivalry with Arab neighbors and decrease the possibility of emergence of new security dilemma with US.Iran’s security dilemma was due to different policies of US, Because Bush government by appointing likeminded elites in Iraq sought to reach a coalition against Iran and its nuclear activities.
