Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Teaching Parenting Methods based on Islamic Culture Taken from the Teachings of Imam Sajjad in Couples
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of teaching parenting methods based on Islamic culture derived from the teachings of Imam Sajjad (AS) in couples with children in the city of Malasani.
The research method is experimental with pre-test-post-test design and follow-up with the control group. The statistical population of the study includes all couples with children in Malasani, the number of which is 3000 couples, of which 60 couples were selected by random sampling. In order to assess parenting styles, the Bamrind (1991) parenting style questionnaire was used. Couples were randomly divided into two groups of 30 control and experimental. The experimental groups were trained in parenting techniques based on the teachings of Imam Sajjad (AS) during twelve two-hour sessions, while the control groups did not receive any training.
The findings of the study using multivariate analysis of covariance showed that the educational package of parenting methods developed based on the teachings of Imam Sajjad (AS) has an effect on couples parenting and the difference between the mean scores of experimental and control groups in both post-test and post-test. In the follow-up stage, it has become statistically significant.
Considering the usefulness of teaching parenting methods derived from Islamic culture, this educational package can be used as an effective method to improve the quality of parenting.
