The Model of Emotional Divorce based on Differentiation with the Mediating Role of Personality Structure and Attachment Styles
The aim of this study was to present a model of emotional divorce based on differentiation with the mediating role of personality structure and attachment styles.
The research method was correlational. From all parents of students with marital conflicts who referred to counseling centers in Tehran in 1399, 350 people were selected by multi-stage random sampling. Tools used were Guttman (2008) Emotional Divorce Questionnaire, Scorne and Friedlander Differentiation, McCray and Costa NEO-ACI Personality Structure, Collins and Reed Attachment Styles (RASS). Data analysis was performed using structural equations using smartpls3.2.8 software.
The results showed that the tested model is of good quality. The direct effect of differentiation components, personality structure and attachment styles with emotional divorce was significant. Also, in the relationship between the components of differentiation and emotional divorce, personality structure and attachment styles played a mediating role.
Therefore, considering the significant relationship between differentiation components and the mediating role of personality structure and attachment styles with emotional divorce, therapists can discuss and treat emotional divorce in order to create cohesion and create a satisfactory marital relationship based on understanding personality structure and Improve attachment styles and increase differentiation in couples.
