The effect of smart city on improving the sense of security with the mediating variable of social capital
The smart city has attracted a lot of attention in urban planning in recent years and its development can provide the basis for improving social capital and sustainable security; Therefore, the aim of this research is to know the effect of smart city on improving the sense of security with the mediating variable of social capital.
This research is applied in terms of purpose, and in terms of the data collection method, it is descriptive of the correlation type, and the statistical population of the research is made up of postgraduate students and professors of sociology and social sciences of Amin University of Administrative Sciences. The variable research tool of smart city and sense of security is the researcher-made questionnaire, and social capital is the Nahapit and Ghoshal (1998) questionnaire. The validity of the tool has been checked through its content validity and reliability using Cronbach's alpha coefficients and confirmed as 0.84, and the data has been analyzed based on the structural equation modeling method.
According to the findings of the research, the direct effect of the dimensions of the smart city on the feeling of security is equal to 0.629 and social capital is equal to 0.583, and also, the direct effect of social capital on the feeling of security is equal to 0.601 at the level of 0.000. It is meaningful and positive. On the other hand, the dimensions of the smart city indirectly and through social capital have an effect equal to 0.341 on the sense of security.
The results show that the dimensions of the smart city can predict 0.472 of the changes in the sense of security, and therefore, with the establishment and development of the dimensions of the smart city, it is possible to increase the social capital and sense of social security among the citizens. upgraded
