The Quantum Mechanical features of a three-flavored neutrino oscillating system

Abstract:
The quantum resource theory tools can examine the quantumness of neutrino oscillations across macroscopic distances. Several researchers have utilized the most popular measures of quantumness, i.e. quantum entanglement, to investigate neutrino oscillations, while the quantum discord measures are rarely applied to survey this phenomenon generally, due to the inherent complexity in their definition. Recently a computable measure of quantum discord is defined for bipartite systems, which is generalized for multipartite systems. In this paper, we propose an alternative generalization for the bipartite measure, to get rid of the maximization process in the definition of total quantum correlation measure, then employ these discord measures to study the quantumness of three-flavored oscillating neutrinos, both in single-particle and wave packet approaches. To support our results, we compare outputs with those of a bona fide entanglement measure, i.e. concurrence fill. Although the results confirm the compatibility of the quantum discord and entanglement, the considered quantum discord measures include more quantum resources than the entanglement.
