The relationship between organizational structure and social responsibility in military environments, investigating the mediating role of satisfying basic psychological needs

The current research aims to investigate the relationship between organizational structure and social responsibility; Satisfying basic psychological needs was done through mediation. The present research method was of the correlation type in the form of a structural equation model. The statistical population of the present study included all the military forces, from which 278 people were selected. The research tools included organizational structure questionnaire (Robbins et al., 1996), basic psychological needs satisfaction scale (Ganieh, 2003), social responsibility scale (Skeit et al., 2004). For data analysis, structural equation model analysis was used in Imus-24 software. The results of the analysis of the initial model based on the fit indices showed that the modified model had a good fit with the data. Also, it was found that organizational structure can affect social responsibility both directly and indirectly through meeting basic psychological needs. Therefore, it can be concluded that if the organizational structure is stable, predictable, has constructive relationships and attention to the competence of people, the basic psychological needs will be met and finally, it can be expected that people's behaviors to learn what is appropriate and appropriate, and also expected ethical behaviors in pursuit of appropriate organizational structure and meeting basic psychological needs.
