Offering strategies for improving spirituality in IRI Army according to views and statements of Imam Khamenei

Spirituality has a foundational role in leading mankind towards earthly and after-life success. Since in the sacred system of IRI, faith in Allah and great teachings of Islam have been the bedrock of constituting institutions, specially armed forces, and the leadership of these forces is assigned to Vali-faghih; therefore, following ethical principles of Islam, and spirituality have significant role in training personnel. Since one of the features of our armed forces is their obedience to the orders of Supreme leader, collecting the elaborations of the influence of spirituality according to views and statements of the supreme leader is of great importance and plays a central role in organizational duties and improvement of defense capabilities. In order to start analyzing statements of the supreme leader,with consultation of experts,250 key words were extracted and then notes were collected by review of the next of lectures, orders, and ideas of imam Khamenei. In the next phase, expectations of the leader along with environmental factors influencing desired strategies were extracted and with consultation of experts, in numerous sessions, 133 expectations; and also among environmental factors, 39 positive factors, 17 debilitating ones, 17 opportunities, and 52 factors that threaten the spirituality improvement strategies of ISI army were collected.The present research is a functional and developmental study, conducted with descriptive method. The statistics involved two main groups: first, the statements, and lectures of Imam Khamenei since 1368 (the start of his leadership and command of armed forces) and the second group, the opinions of experts in armed forces whose ideas have been influential in educational and cultural training of their personnel. Sample population of the first group was selected by total counting and in the second one, 20 people were selected based on purposeful judgment of data. Data were collected by library and field study methods through interview and questionnaire development. The analysis system for data was SWOT. totally, 15 strong points, 7 week points, 22 opportunities, and 19 influential threats in spirituality improvement strategies of IRI army were examined. Analysis of the data proposed 27 strategies in different environments and then, QSPM table was formed to sequentially present the opinions of the experts about the influences and weight of environmental factors on the extracted strategies.
