Abstract:
The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between social support, meaning of life, and coping strategies with unattended women’s resilience in Sari. The method of research was descriptive and correlational. The population under study included all unattended women who visited State Welfare Organization of Sari during 2020-2022 (n= 638). Sample size was estimated by using the Kjercie and Morgan’s Table to 240 individuals. The instruments were social support (Zimmet et al., 1998), meaning of life (Steager et al., 2006), coping strategies (Andler& Parker, 1990) and resilience (Conner & Davidson, 2003) questionnaires which were administered to the participants. The data were analuzed via SPSS 26 by conducting Pearson correlation and multiple regression. The results demonstrated that there is a positive and significant relationship between social support, meaning of life and problem-oriented coping strategy with resilience. Additionally, there is a significant negative association between emotion-oriented coping strategy and avoidance coping strategy with resilience (sig< 0.05). Also, the findings showed that problem-oriented, emotion-oriented, avoidance, meaning of life and social support predicted respectively, 0.431, -0.324, -.313, 0.310 of resilience among women. Considering the findings of research, it seems vital to pay sufficient attention to increasing social support, meaning of life, and using problem-oriented coping strategies to boost women’s resilience.
