The study of the role of physical components of social stability in residential spaces and presenting design solutions with emphasis on walking-orientation (Case study: Lakanshahr Complex of Rasht)
Nowadays, due to the machinery-life epidemic and extreme dependence on vehicles, the social morality of the people and their social interactions, cannot be detected; accordingly, on one hand the level of social stability in societies has decreased significantly and on the other hand has caused issues in two physical and environmental dimensions for both humans and environment. The purpose of the following research is to evaluate “Lakanshahr residential complex” in order to determine the level of social stability and walking-orientation and extracting significant factors alongside presenting solutions to achieve instructions to design high-quality existing spaces in a proper residential complex. The current research is applied in a descriptive and survey method. The results show that the level of social stability and walking-orientation is in an acceptable range, with an average of 3.17 out of 5. Nevertheless, lack of suitable walking and cycling path, alongside unsafety in some routes and solitude areas and incompatible design for vulnerable cortex are the main challenges to have negative impact on the level of social stability and walking-orientation which causes less voluntary partnership from the residents.
