The Relationship between Emotional Regulation and Aggression in Students
The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between emotional regulation and aggression in adolescents. The statistical population of this research includes all teenagers in Tehran in 1400, using Morgan's table for an unlimited population, the number of sample members is 384, and they were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling. The main data of this research was obtained using the emotional regulation questionnaire of Garnevsky et al. (2001) and aggression questionnaire of Bass and Perry (1992). Descriptive statistics (central indices, dispersion) and inferential statistics of Pearson's correlation coefficient and multivariate regression were used in data analysis. The results of the research, through correlation and regression tests, indicated that emotional regulation is related to aggression in teenagers. Also, the results showed that the factors of self-blame, rumination, catastrophizing, underestimating, acceptance, positive refocusing and re-evaluation of planning (emotional regulation subscales) have a significant relationship with aggression and are able to predict aggression.
