Abstract:
Introduction

This study aimed to assess the impact of applying the nursing process, based on Johnson's Behavioral System Model, in patients with diabetes in Kashan city.

Materials and Methods

This case report presents the nursing process of a patient with diabetes who visited the Diabetes Association of Kashan city in 2022. Data collection occurred during the examination stage, utilizing the "Johnson's Behavioral System Model Examination Form" through observation, interviews, and physical examinations. Nursing diagnoses were categorized into stable and unstable behaviors, with care goals established to enhance and preserve stable behaviors while reducing or eliminating unstable behaviors. These goals were communicated with the patient, and nursing actions were implemented and evaluated. Data analysis was presented using a table.

Results

The study revealed unstable behaviors in four behavioral subsystems (inefficiency, protective-aggressive, attraction, restorative, and sexual subsystems). However, these unstable behaviors diminished following planned nursing interventions.

Conclusion

Johnson's Behavioral Model proved effective in modifying and correcting unstable behavior. Therefore, providing care based on nursing models has the potential to enhance the quality of care and client satisfaction.
