The Effectiveness of Transactional Analysis Training on Marital Adjustment of Married People Referring to Tehran CounselingCenters
The purpose of this study was to transactionalanalysis training on marital satisfaction and referral tocounseling centers in Tehran.
The research is a quasi-experimentaland pre-test-post-test with control group. The statisticalpopulation of all married individuals had family conflicts andmarital adjustment problems referring to the psychiatricservices centers of Tehran. A sample of 40 eligible individualswho were referred to a counseling center with adaptiveproblems were selected and were randomly divided into twoexperimental groups (20 and control group, 20). First, allparticipants completed the DAS (Dual CompatibilityQuestionnaire). Participants in the experimental groups weretreated for 12 sessions, but the control group did not receiveany training. After completing the educational program, bothgroups were subjected to post-test. The research findings wereanalyzed using SPSS 24 software and descriptive by statisticalmethod covariance analysis.
The results showed of covariance analysis thattransactional analysis training has been effective in increasingmarital adjustment.
Therefore, according to the results of the study,the application of mutual behavior analysis in couples wouldresult in more marital adjustment and improvement of theirrelationship.
