The components of optimal governance in the Islamic system: With an emphasis on the thought and action of Ayatollah Shahid Beheshti
Although theories of good governance are the product of modern times, Islam has doctrines that outline the characteristics of good governance. Each of the Islamic thinkers, in accordance with the characteristics of good governance, has extracted it from Islamic sources and presented it for designing a decent life for Muslims. This study has comparatively examined the views of Ayatollah Beheshti from the perspective of Western and Islamic thinkers in order to comparatively evaluate good characteristics, because Ayatollah Beheshti has a more correct understanding of these characteristics due to his combined jurisprudential and philosophical knowledge and life experience in the Islamic and Western worlds. His theory under the title of political system "Ummah and Imamate" has several characteristics of good governance. And we have dealt with the "fight against corruption" from Beheshti's perspective, and we have sought traces of their institutionalization in his attempt to propose and approve them in the Assembly of Constitutional Experts. Finally, this study has concluded that these indicators, due to their design in the framework of the political system of the ummah and Imamate, while adapting formally and structurally to modern theories, in terms of content have Islamic interpretations and standards.
