Social factors affecting public participation in improving traffic safety
The purpose of this research is to examine the views of the citizens of the 10th district of Tehran regarding the influence of social factors (education, media, family and friends) on public participation in improving traffic safety. In fact, the main goal of the current research is "to explain the social factors affecting public participation in improving traffic safety".
This research was conducted with a quantitative approach and a descriptive-survey method. The statistical population of this research consists of all the citizens of the 10th district of Tehran, on the basis of which 354 people were selected as the sample size of the research in the form of non-probability available (random) sampling. In this research, a researcher-made questionnaire tool was used.
The research findings showed that there is no correlation between friends and public participation in improving traffic safety. But there is a direct and meaningful relationship between family, media and education with public participation in improving traffic safety.
The results of the multivariate linear regression analysis showed that only 9.5% of the dependent variable can be explained by using independent variables. And with 95% certainty, education has the greatest effect on public participation in improving traffic safety, the family factor has a lesser effect than education and the media factor has the least effect. Also, the factor of friends has no effect on public participation in improving traffic safety.
