The mediating role of marital conflicts in the relationship between marital intimacy and quality of life of infertile military couples
One of the most important issues that give meaning to human life is fertility and having children. When this goal is hindered, many psychological and relational problems arise. For this reason, the aim of this research was the mediating role of marital conflicts in the relationship between marital intimacy and the quality of life of infertile military couples.
The current research method is a descriptive path analysis type. The current research population was infertile military couples who visited infertility clinics in Mashhad in the winter of 2022. A total of 150 infertile couples were selected through purposive sampling. Who completed the marital conflict, quality of life and marital intimacy questionnaires.
The data of the research, which was analyzed using Pearson›s correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression, indicated that marital conflict with marital intimacy (0.37-) and quality of life (0.46-) It has a negative and significant relationship (P<0.01). Also, marital conflict plays a mediating role in predicting the quality of life based on marital intimacy (F = 16.15, P<0.01).
From these findings, it can be concluded that marital conflicts, which are aggravated by infertility in couples, reduce their quality of life and marital intimacy.
