Political Security Foundations in Saadi's Works
In contemporary times, sustainable political security, due to its significant role in governance systems, stands as the foremost and greatest demand of human societies alongside enduring comfort and welfare. Since the literature of any country mirrors the political, social, cultural, and other conditions of that land across various historical periods, it can serve as a valuable repository for research on these subjects. One of the strategies for developing indigenous theories is to pay attention to the historical intellectual treasures throughout a country's history. Saadi's works, a valuable repository of his experiences in political, social, cultural, and other matters, can be highly effective today in understanding issues and generating indigenous knowledge of Iran's political security. Therefore, this interdisciplinary research begins with the question, "How are the foundations of political security presented in Saadi's works?" According to the research findings, topics such as "the temporality of political powers, preserving the people as the sole asset of the political system, addressing public grievances, the wisdom of rulers, consulting with the wise, having a strong judiciary system, selecting specialized, honest, and God-fearing officials, meritocracy, overseeing the officials of the governance system, resorting to war, and supporting the armed forces" constitute the foundations of political security in Saadi's works. This research is a fundamental theoretical and applied study conducted using a descriptive-analytical method, and its findings have been analyzed through "qualitative analysis" and "inductive reasoning."
