Abstract:

Protest literature, as one of the most important literary genres in the history of literature, reflects the social, political and cultural dissatisfactions of a society. This research deals with the comparative comparison between Baharestan Jami and Yazji officials in the field of protest literature. In this study, the way of expressing objections and the content related to social and political grievances in both works are analyzed by descriptive-analytical method. Baharestan by Abdul Rahman Jami was written in the 9th and 15th century AD and criticized the social and political conditions of his time. On the other hand, Nasif Yazji's Majam Al-Bahrin is a work from the 19th century that criticizes the state of Arab society with an artistic and beautiful language. With a comparative approach, this article examines the similarities and differences of the two works and shows how each of these writers protested the conditions of their time using literary language. Also, the impact of political and social developments on protest literature and the role of each writer in shaping social discourses are investigated. The results of this research show that the stories of Baharestan Jami and the officials of Yazji criticize and protest the various social, moral and intellectual situations of their contemporary society by using humor, irony and allegory. These protests are expressed delicately and accurately in the form of short and symbolic stories, in such a way that the reader realizes the depth of social anomalies by reflecting on them.
