Mirza Agha Khan Kermani, a Representative of the School of Modern Historiography in Iran

Abstract:
Mirza Agha Khan Kermani is among the great thinkers and challengers in the contemporary history of Iran who has written various works during his life. Among his collection of works left as a memorial, historiography is very significant. This paper attempts to describe deliberation and investigation in the works of above mentioned thinker, his verbal and practical methods in the field of history and traditional history writing in Iran. Findings imply that history, its nature and importance is very significant from the point of view of Mirza Agha Khan and in addition to the criticism of the tradition of Iranian history writing, he proposes some points and guidelines based on the requirements of the period that show how we can find events, occurrences, periods and historical discussions to stop degeneration and increase the exaltation of Iran.
