A study on status of feeding management of dairy cattle in Isfahan modern farms

In order to conduct present study، data obtained from active modern dairy farms of Isfahan township and suburbs. The farms divided into 5 categories including 20 to 50، 51 to 100، 101 to 150، 151 to 300 and over 301 milking cows. According to Random Classification method، 15 – 20 percent of the dairy farms were selected (totally 49 farms). Information for status of feed management of the farms collected directly by completing questionnaires and monthly recording. Results showed that in the farms cows are reared and fed to 4 groups according to milk yield and days in milk as below: fresh cow، high، medium and low producing cows in comparison to (NRC،1989) recommendations differences between intake of nutrients and required nutrients، for dry matter intake (kg.)، net energy for lactation (Mcal)، crude protein (g.)، calcium (g.)، phosphorus (g.)، were (1. 7، 1. 8، 1. 3 and 0. 52)، (2. 8، 2. 02، 3. 67 and 2. 20)، (-120، 145. 94 and - 86)، (102، 44، 87 and 75) and (16، 24، 23 and 14)، respectively. Differences between means to differences for dry matter intake (except for low producing cows)، net energy for lactation، crude protein (P < 0. 05) and for calcium and phosphorus (P <0. 01) were significant. It is concluded that rations used in the modern farm are not balanced for important nutrients.
