Background and
Purpose
Since Low birth weight is significantly related to infant mortality and it is one of the most important health Ïndexes so this study was conducted to determine the direct and indirect effects important factors to response variable.Materials And Methods
For investigating this analytical Çross-sectional, a check list contains mother’s demographics, pregnancy and infant’s information was used. Ïnfants whose weights were less than 2500g were considered as LBW, they were register. Base on theory, probability casual paths were drawn, next path coefficients were calculated by LÏSRËL 8.8.Results
Path analysis reveals the most effective factor on LBW is Preterm delivery and when it occurs, the chance of LBW will incredibly increase. The second important factor is pregnancy age and its negative path coefficient shows when it increases, the chance of LBW decreases.Çonclusion: LBW chance can be controlled by the accurate pregnancy and prevention of unnecessary end pregnancy.Language:
