    Introduction

During the last two decades, the rate of diagnosing coeliac disease has increased significantly in Iran. The present study aims to describe the life experiences with coeliac disease among the patients referred to the Iranian Coeliac Society in 2017.

    Methods

In the present descriptive phenomenology, 19 patients with coeliac disease referred to the Iranian Coeliac Society, were selected as participants by purposeful sampling method. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with an average of 45 minutes for each session at the coeliac center. The sampling process continued until the data saturation was achieved. The nine-step Colaizzi method was used to analyze the data.

    Results

Based on the results, eight issues such as psychological distress, fighting with disease, disease ambiguity, challenging diets, disease non-acceptance, social isolation, the tendency towards spirituality, disease acceptance efforts, and four other categories such as fear, anxiety, despair, stress and mental instability, and 11 subcategories were identified as life experiences with Coeliac disease. About living with coeliac disease, 8 themes were extracted from the patients’ experiences.

    Conclusion

Since the findings help nurses understand the life experiences of coeliac patients, they can provide appropriate nursing care based on the patient’s needs through the research result. Keywords: Coeliac Disease, Life Experiences, Phenomenology

    Introduction

The professional quality of life (ProQOL) is considered an influential and determining factor in mental health, job performance, and family performance of people. The present study was conducted to determine the relationship between ProQOL and caring behavior in nurses working in Intensive Care Units (ICUs).

    Methods

This correlational study was conducted on 130 nurses working in the ICUs in Nasiriyah, Iraq. Sampling was done using the census sampling method. Data was collected using Stom's Professional Quality of Life Questionnaire and Nurses' Caring Behavior Scale. The results were analyzed using SPSS software version 27 and Pearson's correlation coefficient.

    Results

The mean score of compassion satisfaction, compassion fatigue, and secondary trauma stress was 33.38±10.24, 27.43±5.13, and 26.10±6.60, respectively. The mean of caring behaviors score was 19.15±7.83. A direct and significant relationship was observed between compassion satisfaction and caring behaviors (p<0.001, r=0.638). Also, an inverse and significant relationship was observed between compassion fatigue and caring behaviors (p<0.001, r=-0.382).

    Conclusion

Based on the results of this study, there is a direct and significant relationship between compassion satisfaction and caring behaviors and an inverse relationship between compassion fatigue and caring behaviors. As a result, it seems necessary to plan to improve ProQOL and the caring behaviors of nurses in ICUs.

    Introduction

The performance of nursing at the level of excellence in caring for the patient and family is formed based on the knowledge of aesthetics. This research was conducted to determine the psychometric properties of the Arabic version of the Esthetic of Nursing Care Scale (ENCS)

    Methods

This research is a descriptive and methodological study. In this study, the aesthetic nursing care scale (ENCS) was translated using the Forward/Backward method. Face and content validity was done using a quantitative and qualitative method, using the opinions of 20 members of the nursing faculty, and the ratio and content validity index (CVI, CVR) were calculated. Reliability was checked with two methods of internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) and test-retest. Also, the exploratory factor analysis method was used with a sample size of 260 hospitalized patients.

    Results

In the present study, all items except one item obtained the necessary CVR and CVI points according to the experts. The total reliability of the scale was 0.951 and 0.98, respectively, using Cronbach's alpha and test-retest coefficients. The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that the Arabic version of the structure tool has 4 factors and that this tool has an acceptable fit in the Iraqi Arabic culture and has good construct validity.

    Conclusion

The results showed that the ENCS after removing one item has the necessary validity and reliability in the Iraqi Arabic-speaking community and can be used as a tool to investigate the aesthetics of nursing care.
