Restorative justice to social justice
Restorative justice has actually grown in the shadow of criminal justice. Criminal justice seeks to respond appropriately to any violation of the law and to impose punishment accordingly. But restorative justice focuses on the victim of the idea or on the institutions of society that have been damaged by the crime. Restorative justice wants to find a way between the victim and the offender, a way that minimizes the gap between the two. Restorative justice seeks to compensate for the material and moral damages inflicted on the victim or society rather than on punishment and punishment. In the discourse of restorative justice, the question is: If the offender receives the punishment for his actions, will the spiritual, mental and even material damage suffered by the offender be compensated? For example, if a girl is raped and she is sentenced to death by the judiciary and the judiciary, will that girl be compensated for her moral damage and what is her attitude towards society? And what does society do to compensate for this damage? Has the thought of criminal justice provided this girl with a sense of social justice? Although it is an ideal point of view for criminal justice, it can be said that restorative justice has not been achieved. Restorative justice seeks a shortcut to bridging the gap between mediation between the victim and the offender, and re-socializing the offender.
