The Impact of Emotional Intelligence and Cognitive Intelligence on Education Progress

Abstract:
In this research the relationship between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Cognitive Intelligence (CI) with education progress and their role has been reviewed. The research samples are Tehran high school students, grade one during year 2010-2011. 16486 samples of students were selected according to Morgan table and 420 students were selected as a research sample via cluster random sampling. The data was collected by using 2 standard instruments: Rion adult's intelligence test and bar-N intelligence test. Data were analyzed by using t-test, Pearson correlation test, x2 test and the below results were gained. Also, the Emotional Intelligence in comparison with Cognitive Intelligence had a more effective role in the student's education progress. Moreover, there is a significant difference between feminine and masculine students in the case of (EI).
